How a Global Professional Services Company Activated Social Mobility to Drive Integration

A professional services company had been struggling to integrate new staff from blue-collar homes and less well-known universities. The organization noted how hard it was to get hesitant new recruits to share their personal stories and backgrounds – an important tool in building acceptance. To this end, it used a Cognician 5-day challenge to activate an awareness of social mobility.

Participants were introduced to social mobility through podcasts, articles, and case studies. They were challenged to share their stories and pledge their time to a community initiative. Reflecting on questions helped them to embed new habits. Successful behavior change activation was measured by the percentage of participants confirming their intention to pledge time and share their stories. By the end, 56% of respondents confirmed their willingness to get involved in a community project, and 70% of respondents confirmed their willingness to share their stories.
